What is the Brighten up Yourself?

Brighten up Yourself is a paint revitalization and beautification project geared at bringing rich, vibrant color to Jamaica's inner city communities. The program was created to utilize volunteers from the local community, educational institutions, businesses and other service-oriented organizations island-wide. In some cases, the services of professional painters are acquired for jobs requiring skilled labor.

Why is it necessary?

Institutions that care for orphaned or abandoned children, physically disabled persons and individuals from economically challenged communities, lack the material and financial resources to beautify their homes and communities. This decreases motivation and leads to the degradation of the community as a whole.

How does it work?

Paint and painting supplies are acquired and shipped to the island.

Our Project team works with stakeholders to identify targets in need of painting.

Volunteers and in-kind sponsors are identified and a date selected to commence the Brighten up Yourself program.
