What is the Computer & Equipment Program?
A program designed to place new and gently used computers and other learning aids in educational institutions and other places that are conducive to learning throughout the island of Jamaica.
Why is it necessary?
A majority of educational institutions beginning at the Basic School level operate without these technological tools because they are prohibitively expensive, in an environment where even basic needs often go unmet.
The absence of technology throughout academia creates a wide disparity between Jamaican students and their peers from around the world.
How does it work?
Computers and equipment are acquired from individuals, businesses, educational institutions and retail establishments.
Used equipment is tested to ensure that they meet our high standards then assigned to varying levels of schools, children's homes and community centers.
Recipient organizations are selected then contacted by our project team.
